Tulia is a Polish folk - band . She combines Polish folk music with modern pop and so-called white singing .

history

Tulia was founded in 2017 by the Szczecin musicians Joanna Sinkiewicz, Dominika Siepka, Patrycja Nowicka and Tulia Biczak. The band became known in Poland by releasing a folk cover of the song Enjoy the Silence by Depeche Mode on YouTube in October 2017 .

In 2018 Tulia performed together with Natalia Nykiel and Pianohooligan at the Fryderyk , the most important Polish music award, for which the band received a lot of praise in Poland. Tulia was nominated for the Fryderyk Awards in three categories, which she won all. She also played at many festivals in Poland in 2018 and her tour in Poland was sold out. Their debut album, released in May 2018, reached platinum status in Poland.

In February 2019, the band was nominated for Poland to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv , Israel . Her competition song Fire of Love (Pali się) was presented in early March . In the first semifinals of the ESC on May 14th, Tulia failed very close to the final four days later and had to give way to the neighbors from Belarus with 122 to 120 points .
