The Tupolev Tu-80 and Tu-85 ( Russian Туполев Ту-80 , NATO code name of the Tu-85: "Barge" ) of the Soviet design office Tupolew were four-engine strategic long-range bomber further developments of the Tupolev Tu-4 with more powerful piston engines and modified front fuselage . Neither the Tu-80 (first flight in 1949) nor the Tu-85, of which two prototypes (first flights on January 9 and September 12, 1951) were built, went into series production.
