Tutak ( Kurdish Dûtax or historically Enteb , Armenian Դութախ Duthakh ) is a district town and a district in Turkey .

geography

Both belong to the Ağrı Province and are located in Eastern Anatolia . The district of Tutak is located in the west of the province and borders the provinces of Muş and Erzurum . The town of Tutak is located on the route from Ağrı to Van, on the Murat River . It houses around 22 percent of the district's population.

The district is the third smallest in the province in terms of population. The Tutak Plain, which is surrounded by several high mountains, forms the majority of the district; in the north the Çakmak Dağ (2400 m) and Kılıç Dağ (2546 m), in the south the Gel Dağ (2200 m) and in the east the Aladağ. The climate is continental with long hard winters and hot dry summers. The vegetation mostly consists of steppe plants; Forests are not just individual groves on the rivers.
Administratively, the district is divided into 80 villages ( Köy ) with an average population of 297 inhabitants in addition to the district town . Three of them have more than 1,000 inhabitants: Oğlaksuyu (1,289), Dorukdibi (1,173) and Aşağıköşkköy (1,118 pop .) -
