Tyra Ferrell

Tyra Ferrell (* 28. January 1962 in Houston , Texas ) is an American actress .

Life and accomplishments

Ferrell made her debut in a minor supporting role alongside Ryan O'Neal in the comedy The Freaky Professor from 1981. After a few guest appearances on television series and a larger role in the thriller Up Close (1987), she starred alongside Laurence Fishburne , Cuba Gooding junior , Ice Cube , Nia Long and Angela Bassett played a major role in the drama Boyz n the Hood (1991), which was nominated for two Academy Awards and other awards. She was named one of the 12 Most Promising New Actors of 1991 in John Willis' Screen World .

In the sports comedy White Men's bring not (1992) played the role of Ferrell Rhonda Deane , wife of of Wesley Snipes embodied Sidney Deane . In the mystery thriller Equinox she played one of the bigger roles alongside Matthew Modine , Lara Flynn Boyle , Marisa Tomei and Fred Ward . In the Oscar- nominated drama Poetic Justice (1993), she starred alongside Janet Jackson and Tupac Shakur .

Since the mid-1990s, appearances in television series followed, such as in six episodes of the television series Emergency Room - Die Notaufnahme in 1994. It was only in the comedy Voll gepunktet (2004) with Scarlett Johansson that Ferrell took on a role in a feature film again. The role in the television drama Flight 323 - Crash Over Wyoming (2004) earned her an Image Award nomination in 2005 .
