Lara Flynn Boyle
Lara Flynn Boyle (born March 24, 1970 in Davenport , Iowa ) is an American actress .
Life
Her parents named her after the figure of Lara from Doctor Zhivago . When Boyle was six, her parents separated and she moved to Chicago with her mother . During her childhood she was very shy, so she took a class to help her get more out of herself. As a result of taking this course, she developed an interest in acting.
Boyle received a scholarship to the Chicago Academy for the Arts , a special high school with an emphasis on the arts .
Acting career
While still at school, she starred in the television miniseries America in 1987 and made her film debut in 1988 in the film Poltergeist III . The day after graduating from high school, she moved to Los Angeles with her mother in the hope of starting a film career there. In the hit film The Dead Poets Club , she played a supporting role, which was almost completely cut from the film. After a handful of small film and television film roles, she played in David Lynch's cult television series Twin Peaks in 1989/90 the role of Donna Hayward, the best friend of the murder victim Laura Palmer. The series helped her to become very popular, but it also meant that she was offered "quirky" roles in the following years. In the further course of her career she appeared in such successful films as Wayne's World (1992) and played the lead female role in Einsam Zweisam Dreisam . She also starred in failures such as A Hot Trio (1997).
From 1997 to 2003 she played a bigger role as prosecutor Helen Gamble in the justice series The Practice , which - among other awards - received fifteen Emmys from 1998 to 2004 alone . In Men in Black II , she played the Kylothin monster Serleena in 2002 , for which she was nominated for a Golden Raspberry for worst supporting actress. From 2005 to 2006 she was in the third season of the television series Las Vegas as a casino owner.
Personal
Boyle is always a topic in the gossip press, partly because of her relationships with well-known Hollywood stars such as Jack Nicholson , with whom she was dating from 1999 to 2001. In addition, she repeatedly gets into talk about her strikingly slim figure, so that her anorexia is assumed, but also because of alleged or actual dyslexia . Her obvious penchant for cosmetic surgery has also made her headlines again and again in recent years.
Her grandfather, Charles A. Boyle , represented the US state of Illinois in the US House of Representatives from 1955 to 1959 .
