U-20 African Cup of Nations 2005 / qualification

The qualification for the U-20 African Cup of Nations 2005 was held to determine the seven finalists alongside hosts Benin . The games took place between April 2 and October 24, 2004.

mode

The registered teams determined the seven final round participants in three qualifying rounds in the knockout system with home and return legs. In the event of a tie, the away goal rule decided on progress. If there was also a tie, a penalty shoot- out was carried out without extra time .

Preliminary round

The first legs were played on April 2 and 3, the second legs on April 17 and 18, 2004.

Niger have been suspended by FIFA ahead of the second leg.

Result

Morocco, Egypt, Lesotho, Angola, Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Mali qualified for the finals.
