    UTC − 9: 30 is a zone time which has the longitude semicircle 142 ° 30 'West as the reference meridian. On watches with this zone time, it is nine and a half hours earlier than Coordinated Universal Time and ten and a half hours earlier than CET .

    The time zone is now used exclusively on the Marquesas Islands in French Polynesia .

    In 1933 a summer time regulation was introduced into the Hawaiian Standard Time on a trial basis. Since Hawaii was still in the UT − 10:30 time zone at the time, daylight saving time was UT − 9: 30.
