history

The boat was built from February 2, 1943 at the Friedrich Krupp Germania shipyard in Kiel . After it was put into operation on March 21, 1944, it was placed under the command of Oberleutnant zur See Horst Selle on April 22, 1944 . Lying in the dry dock of the Germania shipyard in Kiel, U 795 was destroyed on May 3, 1945 by blowing up the engine room in order to rule out subsequent use by the enemy.
