Uljanowka ( Russian Ульяновка , lit. Uljanovka , until 1947 Klein Hoppenbruch ) is a small town in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad ( Koenigsberg area (Prussia) ) in the former East Prussia . It belongs to the city district of Laduschkin (Ludwigsort) .

Ulyanovka is four kilometers northeast of Laduschkin ( Ludwigsort ) and three kilometers southwest of Uschakowo near the Russian trunk road A 194 (also European route 28 ) on the border between the urban district of Laduschkin and Guryevsk district . The nearest train station is Laduschkin on the Malbork - Braniewo - Mamonowo - Kaliningrad line (former Prussian Eastern Railway ).

The place name Ulyanovka occurs several times in Russia. In German, Klein Hoppenbruch differs from Groß Hoppenbruch (Russian: Snamenka) , located 25 kilometers further south-west, directly on the Malbork-Kaliningrad railway line .

history

On June 11, 1874, the rural communities of Brandenburg Flecken (from 1928 Klein Brandenburg, today Russian: Uschakowo) and Klein Hoppenbruch as well as the manor districts Brandenburg Domain and Brandenburger Heide, Forst and Mühle Brandenburg formed the Brandenburg District .

In 1910 the community of Klein Hoppenbruch had 20 residents. On September 30, 1928, the independence of this municipality ended: it was merged with the municipality of Klein Brandenburg to form the new rural municipality of Brandenburg .

Until 1945 the place belonged to the district of Heiligenbeil in the administrative district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia . Since 1945 it has been under the Soviet or Russian administration and has been called Ulyanovka since 1947.

Until 1945, Klein Hoppenbruch belonged to the parish of Brandenburg in the church district of Heiligenbeil in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union , with a predominantly Protestant population . The last German clergyman was Pastor Fritz Schiweck .

Before 1945, Klein Hoppenbruch was also oriented towards Brandenburg in terms of schools.
