Ulrich Böhme (politician)

Ulrich Böhme (born February 12, 1939 in Chemnitz ; † February 7, 1996 in Unna ) was a German educator and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After graduating from the Pestalozzi-Gymnasium in Unna in 1959, Böhme began studying German , history , philosophy and pedagogy at the universities of Munich , Münster and Bochum , which he completed in 1968/69 with both state exams and a doctorate in Dr. phil. finished. He then entered the school service and had been director of studies and didactic director of the Fröndenberg comprehensive school since 1976 . He had joined the DGB in 1968 , was a member of the Education and Science Union (GEW) and its chairman in the Unna district .

Böhme was a Protestant , married and had two sons.

Political party

Böhme joined the SPD in 1969, was deputy chairman from 1977 and chairman of the SPD sub-district Unna from 1981 to 1996. In 1983 he was elected to the district executive committee of the SPD Western Westphalia .

MP

In the federal election in 1987 Böhme was elected to the German Bundestag , to which he belonged until his death. He always entered parliament through a direct mandate in the constituency of Unna I. In the Bundestag he was a member of the Committee on Education and Science as well as the Committee on Youth, Family, Women and Health and the Committee on Family and Seniors.
