Ulubey is a small Turkish town and capital of the district of the same name ( İlçe ) in the province of Uşak in western Turkey. The city is located 30 km south of Uşak . According to the city seal, the place was raised to a municipality ( Belediye ) in 1898 .

In the village of Sülümenli near Ulubey lies the ancient city ​​of Blaundos on the north / east side, in a semicircle like on a piece of island surrounded by ravines .

The county

Ulubey County is located in the south of the province and borders on the Central County ( Merkez ) in the north, Eşme County in the west , Karahallı County in the east and Denizli Province in the south . In part, the Adigüzel reservoir (26 km²) forms a natural border in the south .

In addition to the district town, the district is divided into 26 villages ( Köy ) with an average of 245 residents. With 686 inhabitants, İnay is the largest village. Three villages with 27 inhabitants each from Eşme County ( Gökçukur ), Central County ( Halilefendiçiftliği ) and Ulubey County ( Çırpıcılar ) are the smallest villages in the province.

The most populous village in 2017 ( Avgan 1.687 inh.) Has been a Mahalle of the district town since 2018. The population density of the district (50.9) is below that of the province (77.2 inh. Per km²), the urban population is 49.1 percent.

The district is crossed by the D595 from the east (from Izmir ) via Uşak in the south ( Denizli ).
