Umut Koçin (born June 2, 1988 in Hamburg ) is a German-Turkish football player of Kurdish descent.

Career

Koçin, who originally comes from Bingöl , started playing soccer at the Hamburg club HT 1816 Hamburg and then moved to the youth department of Hamburger SV . For the 2006/07 season , the offensive midfielder came to Arminia Bielefeld, where he was primarily used in the second team in the Oberliga Westfalen . After 28 games and nine goals scored, Koçin was transferred to the then reigning Turkish cup winner Kayserispor in the Süper Lig at the beginning of the 2008/09 season . After two seasons he moved to Austria and signed with Kapfenberger SV in the top division. He then spent another two years in Leipzig , where he terminated his contract in July 2013.

In the summer of 2013 he moved to the Turkish second division club Karşıyaka SK . The stations at Pazarspor and Nazilli Belediyespor followed .

Koçin returned to Hamburger SV on February 2, 2015 . He is part of the second team there and received a contract until the end of the 2014/15 regional league season .

National team

Between 2005 and 2008 Koçin played a total of 18 games for Turkish junior national teams in the age groups U-18 to U-20. In 2007 he failed with the U-19 selection in the second qualifying round for the U-19 European Championship to Portugal.
