The University System of Georgia ( USG ) is the State university system , an association of state universities in the American state of Georgia . Around 325,000 students were enrolled at the USG's 26 universities in 2017.

Facilities

The USG includes a total of 26 state higher education institutions: four universities with various research focuses ("Research University"), four comprehensive universities with regional focuses ("Comprehensive University"), nine public universities ("State University") and nine public colleges ("State College") ). In addition to the universities, the USG also includes the system of public libraries ("Georgia Public Library Service") and the state archives of Georgia ("Georgia Archives").
