history

The oldest known mention of Unterhausen comes from the year 1150, when "Wolf von Hausen [Hausen = Unterhausen], Berthold von Hausen and Leutold [Luitold] von Hausen as feudal and servants of the Counts of Andechs" are named. The prefix “Unter-” to the older part “Hausen” of the place name came about later from the point of view of the city of Weilheim.

Between 1350 and 1400 the Church of Our Lady was built in Unterhausen. Thanks to the commitment of the noble von Schondorf, the village received its own pastor.

Between 1632 and 1634, a total of 38 Unterhausers died of the plague during the Thirty Years War .

With the first community edict in 1808, the political community came into being, to which, in addition to the parish village itself, the wasteland of Dietlhofen also belonged. The community belonged to the district court of Weilheim .

In the 1960s and 1970s, the infrastructure of the community was renewed: the community center (1966), a new fire station (1968) and the kindergarten (1974) were built. In addition, 24 Unterhausers founded the Unterhausen sports club in 1966. The club house was inaugurated in 1988.

In the course of the regional reform on January 1, 1978, the entire community was incorporated into Weilheim .
