geography

The village is located in the valley of the Therngrabenbach on the state road L27 , which, coming from Hollabrunn , leads to Horner Straße .

history

A place Ternie was mentioned for the first time in the 11th century in a deed of donation from King Henry IV . The distinction between Oberthern and Unterthern was first made in 1320 in a land register of the Passau monastery, where an inferior tern and a superior tern are named. Later the name Nidern Tern comes up. In the 14th century Unterthern is mentioned as a property of the Mittergrabern rulership .

After the reforms of 1848/1849 , the place was constituted as an independent municipality in 1850 and was assigned to the district of Ober-Hollabrunn until 1868 and then to the Hollabrunn district .
