Untertoggenburg
The Untertoggenburg district was an administrative unit of the Canton of St. Gallen from 1803 to the end of 2002 .
Ganterschwil (today part of the municipality of Bütschwil-Ganterschwil ) and Mogelsberg (today part of the municipality of Neckertal ) have been part of the Toggenburg constituency since 2003 . The other Untertoggenburg communities have been part of the Wil electoral district since then . The term Untertoggenburg is still used today by the constituency parties CVP Wil-Untertoggenburg, FDP Wil-Untertoggenburg and SP Wil-Untertoggenburg and by other associations in their own name.
1803-1831
Since the founding of the canton of St. Gallen in 1803, the Untertoggenburg district consisted of the communities Mogelsberg , Ganterschwil , Bütschwil , Lütisburg , Mosnang , Kirchberg , Jonschwil , Oberuzwil , Henau , Flawil and Degersheim .
In 1831 the previous district of Untertoggburg was divided into the "new" district of Untertoggenburg and the district of Alttoggenburg .
1831-2002
The Federal Statistical Office ran the district under FSO no. 1712.
