Ursus, the Invincible (Original title: Ursus nella terra di fuoco ) is an adventure film with fantasy elements , which was made in Italian production in 1963 under the direction of Giorgio Simonelli . It had its German-language premiere on September 18, 1964.

In an indefinite country and at an indefinite time, King Lothar rules, who takes advice from the devious Hamilcar and his niece Mila. He allows himself to be tempted to attack his peaceful neighbors, a shepherd people who are however protected by the strong Ursus. An accident of the king's daughter Diana is used by Hamilcar to have Ursus captured by unscrupulous crooks under the leadership of Lero and to kill or enslave the shepherd people. An earthquake prevents the arrest, but by then Hamilacar has killed Lothar; only Diana manages to escape.

Ursus takes part in a tournament that Hamilcar has organized to placate the people, and can defeat all opponents and initially avoid all traps. He evades a planned duel with Hamilcar, has Ursus thrown into dungeon and forces Diana to marry him. With the help of the jealous Mila and his powers, Ursus can free himself; with the help of the fire god, he can eliminate Hamilcar's henchmen and ultimately him himself. He marries Diana, the people can live in freedom.
