Usseau is a commune Déléguée in the French commune of Val-du-Mignon with 877 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ). The inhabitants are called Uxellois .

On January 1, 2019, the municipality of Usseau merged with Priaires and Thorigny-sur-le-Mignon to form Commune nouvelle Val-du-Mignon. Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. The municipality of Usseau belonged to the Arrondissement of Niort and the canton of Mignon-et-Boutonne (until 2015 Mauzé-sur-le-Mignon ).

geography

Usseau is about 48 kilometers east of La Rochelle and about 24 kilometers southwest of Niort am Mignon . Usseau is surrounded by the villages of La Rochénard in the north, La Foye-Monjault in the east and northeast, Prissé-la-Charrière in the east, Thorigny-sur-le-Mignon in the southeast, Priaires in the south, and Saint-Saturnin-du-Bois in the Southwest and Mauzé-sur-le-Mignon in the west and northwest.
