Uta-Maria Schütze , also Uta Maria Schütze , (* 1944 ) is a German actress .

Life

Education and theater

Uta Maria Schütze grew up in Meissen , where she also received her first acting lessons. From 1963 to 1967 she completed an acting training at the University of Music and Theater "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig . This was followed by permanent engagements at the Meiningen Theater (1967–1969) and at the Salzburg State Theater (1969–1971). In 1971 she came to the theaters of Cologne , where she stayed until 1973. From there she went to the Hanover State Theater in 1973 , where she was a permanent member of the ensemble from 1973 to 1978.

She had another permanent engagement at the Stadttheater Aachen from 1987 to 1995 . There she appeared in 1995 as Public Opinion in the operetta Orpheus in der Unterwelt . In 1995 she played the role of mother in the fairy tale play The Cold Heart at "Düsseldorfer Sommer" . After that, Schütze played several times on boulevard stages, such as the Theater an der Kö in Düsseldorf (1996) and the comedy Bochum (1998). She had guest performances at the Aachen Theater (1997), the Krefeld City Theaters (1998) and the Grenzlandtheater Aachen (1999). From 2000 to 2005 she was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Schauspiel Essen . There she stepped u. a. as Mrs. Brigitte in The Broken Jug and as grandmother in the fairy tale The Snow Queen .

From 2005 she worked exclusively as a freelancer, with engagements at the Kasemattentheater der Stadt Luxembourg (2005), at the Städtische Bühnen Wuppertal (season 2005/2006; Ms. Director Hassenreuther in Die Ratten ), at the Grenzlandtheater Aachen (2009-2011) and at the Arkadaş -Theater in Cologne (2014; as Blanche in What really happened to Baby Jane? ). At the Grenzlandtheater Aachen in 2011 she played the role of Carol in the German premiere of the tabloid comedy Once Again in Love by Joe DiPietro .

Her stage roles in the course of her career included u. a. the title role in Minna von Barnhelm , Hamlet's mother Gertrude in Hamlet , Amalia in Die Räuber , Marthe Rull in Der zerbrochne Krug and the title role in the musical Kiss me, Kate .

She also worked as an acting teacher, u. a. as a lecturer for role studies at the drama school of the theater Der Keller in Cologne.

Movie and TV

In addition to her theater work, Schütze repeatedly took on smaller roles in film and television, but the main focus of her work as an actress was her work for the theater. One of her first television roles was the role of the librarian Miss Silvia in the first five episodes of the children's series Lemmi und die Schmöker (1973). In the Tatort episode Birthday Greetings (1974), Sagittarius played the role of the neighbor Mrs. Wolf. In 2009 she was seen in the ZDF television film Diamond Wedding as Gabriele Dähnert; she played the mother of the bride. In the feature film Transpapa (2012) she played the small role of the neighbor Mrs. Brinkler.

She had continuous supporting roles in the series Geliebte Schwestern (1997/98; as Iris Stember, mother of the student nurse Karen Stember) and Die Anrheiner (1998; as Dr. Stetter). She also had episode roles in the series Stadtklinik (1996), Unter Uns (1997), Die Wache (2001) and Lindenstrasse (2008; as Angela Seibert, Suzanne's mother). In 2012 she had an episode lead role in the TV series SOKO 5113 ; she played the role of foster mother Agnes Färber. In the two-part Taunus thriller Die Lebenden und die Toten (first broadcast: January 2017), she was seen alongside Peter Lerchbaumer as Lydia Winkler, whose daughter dies of a cerebral hemorrhage while jogging and who, together with her family, decide on organ donation should. In the ZDF crime series Helen Dorn (2019), she played the 72-year-old witness Ursula Schönbach. In the 7th season of the ZDF series Heldt (2019), Schütze took on an episode role as a patient in need of care Alberta Schmäle.

Schütze lives in Cologne.
