Utz Böhner
Utz Böhner (born June 8, 1967 in Berlin-Schmargendorf ) is a German prehistoric archaeologist . He is a member of the Association of State Archaeologists .
Life
During his school days, Utz Böhner moved from Berlin to Franconia , where he passed the Abitur. He studied prehistory and early history with a focus on the older and younger Stone Age at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg . He wrote his master's thesis on the rock tools of the late Neolithic settlement Dietfurt an der Altmühl . Between 1994 and 1995 he received a graduate - scholarship . Even during his studies, he was interested in the IT-supported processing of data. He was involved in excavations at sites during the construction of the Rhine-Main-Danube Canal , in investigations of the prehistoric settlement Pestenacker and excavations of the German Archaeological Institute at Göbekli Tepe in Turkey. In 2000 he received his doctorate with a thesis on the Paleolithic site of the armchair rock grotto in the Altmühltal , the excavation of which he had previously led. He then traveled to the Middle East for half a year .
Utz Böhner has been with the Lower Saxony State Office for Monument Preservation (NLD) since 2001 , where he worked on the Schöninger Speere project from 2002 . He is responsible for information management and support for the ADABweb specialist information system for archaeological inventory. Since around 2019 he has headed the cross- departmental inventory / digital atlas for the creation of the Lower Saxony monument atlas .
In 2016 he took over the chairmanship of the Association of Friends of Archeology in Lower Saxony from Wilhelm Gebers , which works closely with the NLD.
