Uwe Boegelsack

Uwe Boegelsack (born December 2, 1939 in Gommern ; † January 28, 2017 ) was a German politician of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED) in the German Democratic Republic (GDR). From 1984 to 1987 he was Deputy Minister for Electrical Engineering and Electronics and from 1987 to 1990 General Director of the VEB Kombinat Rundfunk und Fernsehen Staßfurt .

Life

Boegelsack, son of an employee , worked as a punch and unskilled worker after graduating from high school in 1958 and became a typesetter and filer in 1961 . After completing his studies, he worked as a technologist from 1962 to 1966 and joined the SED in 1966. After a correspondence course at the Magdeburg Engineering School , he became an engineer and worked as a division manager until 1968 and then as head of the main production department at VEB Elektromotorenwerk in Wernigerode until 1978 . After further studies at the Technical University of Magdeburg , he became a graduate engineer in 1971 . From 1979 he was operations director of VEB Elektromotorenwerk Wernigerode .

From 1984 to 1987 Boegelsack was Deputy Minister for Electrical Engineering and Electronics of the GDR and from 1987 to 1990, as the successor to Joachim Witschaß , General Director of the VEB Kombinat Rundfunk und Fernsehen Staßfurt . In September 1991 Boegelsack left the RFT AG, which emerged from the GDR combine after German reunification .

Boegelsack was president of 1. FC Magdeburg from 1990 to July 1991 (successor to Reinhard Lehmann). Boegelsack last lived in Wernigerode and was buried in the municipal cemetery in Hasserode .
