Uwe Hans Reuter

Uwe Hans Reuter (born October 2, 1955 in Dillenburg ) is a German banker , lawyer , insurance manager , honorary consul of the Republic of Austria and CEO of Kestnergesellschaft .

Life

Uwe H. Reuter was born in Dillenburg in the Lahn-Dill district in 1955 . After attending school, he completed an apprenticeship in banking and then studied law .

From 1988 to 1992 Reuter was director of Citibank Personal Banking Europe and Citibank Privatkunden AG in Düsseldorf . He then moved to the Allianz Group . Until 2000 he was also a member of the board of the United Insurance Group and the Bavarian Insurance Bank based in Munich .

In 2001 Reuter took over the role of CEO of the Zurich Group Germany . In the following year 2002 he moved to the board of the VHV Group in Hanover . In 2003 he became CEO of VHV Holding AG .

Cultural activities

In addition to his professional tasks and the representation in the consulate for the Republic of Austria, Reuter is mainly dedicated to cultural activities. He sits on the board of trustees of the Kunsthalle Schirn in Frankfurt am Main and, following an invitation by the publisher Wilhelm Sandmann, in particular as chairman of the board of the Kestnergesellschaft. As such, in November 2016 he unveiled - together with Lower Saxony's Prime Minister Stephan Weil - the memorial plaque for the art historian and former director of the Kestnergesellschaft Justus Bier (1899–1990), who fled to the USA from anti-Semitism at the time of National Socialism in 1937 .
