Uwe Reuter (born November 27, 1934 - † December 15, 2011 ) was a German football player . The offensive player was active in the football leagues north and south (1960/61) from 1956 to 1964 , as well as in the first year of the Bundesliga , 1963/64.

Career

As a student from SV Uhlenhorst-Herta, Reuter switched to the youth department of Hamburger SV . At HSV, the striker made his way and made the leap into the league team, in which he played from the summer of 1956 , via the amateur team - like Gerhard Krug and Jürgen Werner . At the end of the 1955/56 season - the HSV amateurs had risen to third place in the Hamburg Amateur League with a goal difference of 122:48 goals - he was used for the first time in the “Rothosen” league team. He made his debut at HSV without playing in the upper league in the final round of the German soccer championship . In the away game on June 3, 1956 against VfB Stuttgart, Reuter stormed the left wing in a 4-2 win and Gerhard Krug occupied the right wing. For Reuter, there were two more finals against Borussia Dortmund (2: 1) and Viktoria 89 Berlin (3: 1). On August 5, 1956, he was also in the HSV storm series which lost the final in the DFB Cup final in the Karlsruhe Wildpark Stadium against Karlsruher SC with 1: 3 goals against the southern German top division.

In the Oberliga Nord he was a member of the HSV championship teams from 1957 to 1960 and, after his studies-related stay in Munich in 1960/61, also in the last two years of the old first-class Oberliga era, 1962 and 1963. Overall, Reuter is led with 126 league appearances for the "Rothosen" with 49 goals, 19 appearances in the final round of the German championship (6 goals) and 15 DFB Cup games with seven goals. The highlights were the two-time entry into the finals for the German championship in 1957 and 1958 . Both finals were lost to Dortmund (1: 4) and Schalke 04 (0: 3), but Reuter stormed alongside Uwe Seeler in the HSV attack. During his philology studies, he spent some time in England in 1959/60 and thus missed the greatest success of his club, winning the German championship in 1960 against 1. FC Cologne.

Academic reasons were also decisive when switching to TSV 1860 Munich for the 1960/61 season . Under coach Hans Hipp , he played the first two rounds of matches against Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayern Hof with the "Löwen", but then took a break until February 1961. In the last nine association games he then stormed alongside other players such as Manfred Wagner , Alfons Stemmer, Rudolf Brunnenmeier , Johann Auernhammer , Eckehard Feigenspan and Alfred Heiß . The "blues" took sixth place and Reuter had scored two goals in eleven league appearances. After the season he returned to Hamburg, where he completed 35 league games for HSV by 1963 when he won two further Northern Championships, in which he scored 17 goals. When the Hanseatic League won the DFB Cup in 1963 , Reuter was only in action in the first main round game, on June 30, 1963, in the 5-2 win against Bayern Hof. In his last round as an active player, in 1963/64 in the debut round of the Bundesliga, he played three games against 1. FC Kaiserslautern (2: 3), 1. FC Köln (1: 1) and on May 5 Against Borussia Dortmund (2: 5) in 1964, before ending his playing career in the summer of 1964. In October 1963 he was used in the 3-2 away win at Union Sportive Luxembourg on the left wing in the European club competition of cup winners .

Private

After his time as a football player, Reuter worked as a teacher at the Alexander-von-Humboldt-Gymnasium in Hamburg-Harburg, for the subjects of sport and English.
