history

The bank was created through the merger of the VR-Bank Coburg-Rennsteig eG with the approximately half as large Coburger Bank eG in 2006. The Coburger Bank goes back to the Schulze-Delitzschen Advance Association in Coburg , which started its business in 1863.

The VR-Bank Coburg-Rennsteig has its oldest roots in the Coburg region in the Raiffeisen banks Fechheim , Grub - Creidlitz , Gestungshausen and Lautertal, which were founded from 1889 to 1897 . Further foundings followed in 1911 with the Großwalburer savings and loan association, which merged in 1919 with the cash registers in Ahlstadt and Breitenau and Raiffeisenbank Meeder to form Raiffeisenbank Großwalbur , in 1918 with Raiffeisenbank Bergdorf and in 1922 with Raiffeisenbank Oeslau . In 1963 the Raiffeisen banks Oeslau and Mönchröden merged to form Raiffeisenbank Rödental . In 1975 the Raiffeisen banks Grub-Creidlitz, Gestungshausen and Lautertal founded Raiffeisenbank Coburg in order to have a presence in Coburg. In 1977 the institute was located in the bank and medical center at Mohrenstrasse 7a, which was built together with an investor.

In 1991 the Raiffeisenbank Coburg merged with the Volksbank Sonneberg , which goes back to the savings and advance payment association Sonneberg from 1897, to the commercial bank Coburg-Sonneberg . In the same year the Raiffeisen banks Einberg , Bergdorf and Fechheim merged with the Raiffeisen bank Rödental. The Raiffeisenbank Großwalbur and the Gewerbebank Coburg-Sonneberg finally merged into the Coburg-Rennsteig-Bank eG in 2000 and after the merger with the Raiffeisenbank Rödental in 2000 the bank traded under the name VR-Bank Coburg-Rennsteig eG . The head office was expanded in 2000 through the purchase of the former trade union building at Mohrenstrasse 7.

In October 2007, VR-Bank Coburg took over offices in Sonneberg-Hönbach, Schalkau and Neuhaus-Schierschnitz from Volksbank Saaletal eG .
