history

In 1889 the savings and advance payment association zu Kreuzburg eGmuH (in today's Creuzburg) passed its statute at the general assembly.

In 1951 the Agricultural Cooperative Eisenach eGmbH was founded in Eisenach as the legal predecessor of Volksbank and Raiffeisenbank Eisenach eG.

In 1990 the Bank for Agriculture and Food Industry merged with Raiffeisenbank and Warengenossenschaft Eisenach eG and thus the first general assembly. Another extraordinary general meeting decided in the same year to split the Raiffeisenbank and Warengenossenschaft Eisenach eG into two legally independent companies. Raiffeisenbank Eisenach eG was created. A year later, the General Assembly decided to rename Raiffeisenbank Eisenach eG to Volksbank und Raiffeisenbank Eisenach eG. At the general assembly in 1992, the merger with Raiffeisenbank Südringgau was decided. This was created in 1969 through the merger of the Raiffeisenkasse Nesselröden with the savings and loan fund Herleshausen.

In 2014 Volksbank und Raiffeisenbank Eisenach eG celebrated its 125th anniversary.

In 2017, the Volksbank and Raiffeisenbank Eisenach eG and Raiffeisenbank Ronshausen-Marksuhl eG finally merged. With the entry in the cooperative register on August 22, 2017, the merger became legally binding and today's VR-Bank Eisenach-Ronshausen eG was created.
