Valentin Andreas Möllenbrock

Valentin Andreas Möllenbrock ( Latinized Valentinus Andreas Moellenbroccius ; born June 1, 1623 in Erfurt , † August 8, 1675 in Halle (Saale) ) was a German physician .

Life

Valentin Andreas Möllenbrock was the son of the Soest merchant Andreas Möllenbrock , who lived in Erfurt . In 1639 he moved to the University of Erfurt , where he initially studied theology , but switched to medicine and chemistry . After stays in Strasbourg , Leipzig and Jena , he received his doctorate from the University of Jena in October 1650 . From July 1651 he was a professor at the University of Erfurt and was admitted to the Academia Naturae Curiosorum , today's German Academy of Natural Scientists Leopoldina , on September 28, 1652 with the nickname Pegasus I ( matriculation no. 6 ) . On February 3, 1675 he became a city ​​physician in Halle, but died on August 8 of that year.

Möllenbrock married the widow of the lawyer Caspar Bierling on September 3, 1650 and had a daughter and a son with her.
