The Stura di Demonte is a 110 km long river in the Italian region of Piedmont .

It rises near the Colle della Maddalena (altitude: 1996 m) in the Maritime Alps . At its source is the Lago della Stura lake . After flowing through the Valle Stura di Demonte ( Stura Valley), the river enters the northern Italian plain before Cuneo . At Cuneo, the Gesso mountain stream flows into the Stura from the right, which even flows into the Tanaro at Cherasco .

Neighboring valleys are Valle Maira and Valle Grana in the north, and Valle Gesso in the southeast.
