Vancouver Film Studios

The Vancouver Film Studios is a film production center in the Canadian city of Vancouver . It is the largest facility of its kind in North America outside of Los Angeles . The company is owned by the McLean Group . The film studios are located in the east of the city next to the Trans-Canada Highway , they include thirteen studios and several outbuildings.

history

The McLean Group acquired the site at the beginning of the 1980s , which at that time was still used by numerous small industrial and commercial operations. Costco Canada and Roots Canada are the only companies that have remained on the site to this day. The McLean Group entered the film business in 1987 with the purchase of Northstar International Studios . Adjacent buildings and land were purchased on the Vancouver site by 1995. The first productions began in 1998 after being renamed Vancouver Film Studios . The first new building was occupied in 2000. Five more new studio buildings followed by 2003.

Vancouver Film Studios has thirteen studios and multiple warehouses, office buildings, residential accommodation, and movie sets.

Building a

A building which has two studios, next to it offices and a warehouse. The floor area is 2,586 m 2 . Studio A1 and A2 have 1,160 m 2 and 1400 m 2 respectively .

Building B

Vancouver Film Studios Ltd. bought the building in 1997. Elevators were previously built in the building. In 2001 the building was completely renovated and contains two production offices and two studios, each with 1,400 m 2 and a construction area of ​​430 m 2 .

Building c

Vancouver Film Studios administration building and Pacific Production Support. It has a certified heliport on the roof. It is approved for private air traffic and is operated by the Studio Air Group.

Building D

The building was completed in 1987 and has an area of ​​2,069 m 2 .

Building E.

was bought in 1997 and has been renovated. It has offices.

Building F

The studio serves as the main film studio and has an area of ​​around 2400 m 2 . In addition to a studio, it has a large hall and plenty of open space. It is located on 3696 Cornett Road.

Building G

Is a large hall that was completed in 2000 after the previous building was demolished.

Building H & I

each have a studio with an area of ​​around 1,400 m 2 each . It's located at 3625 East 11th Avenue.

Building J

Is the largest building production halls and an area of ​​around 3,700 m 2 . It was completely renovated in August 2001.

Building K

has a hall with 5,100 m 2 .

Building L

is a warehouse with an area of ​​930 m 2 .

Building M

is located at 3645 Grandview Highway, the 2,943 m 2 is equipped with a studio, offices, and has film preparation rooms for the actors and other facilities.

Building n

is a pure office building.
