Vanessa Chefer Spínola (born March 5, 1990 in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian heptathlete .

Athletic career

Her first international championships were the 2007 Junior South American Championships in São Paulo , where she won the gold medal in the long jump with .79 m. At the youth world championships in Ostrava she finished 21st in the heptathlon. In 2008 she was 16th at the Junior World Championships in Bydgoszcz and won the gold medal at the U23 South American Championships in Lima with 5138 points. In 2009 she won the gold medal in the heptathlon and with the Brazilian 4 x 100 meter relay at the Junior South American Championships in São Paulo. She also took fourth place over 100 meters. Then she won the gold medal in the heptathlon at the Pan American Junior Championships in Port of Spain , as well as at the South American Championships in Lima. In 2010 she had to give up her competition at the South American Games in Medellín , which also represented the U23 South American Championships, and took fourth place at the Ibero-American Championships in San Fernando .

In 2011 she won the gold medal in the heptathlon again at the South American Championships in Buenos Aires . In 2012 she won the gold medal at the U23 South American Championships in São Paulo, as well as at the 2014 Ibero-American Championships there. In 2015 she won the bronze medal at the Pan American Games in Toronto and qualified for the World Championships in Beijing , where she finished 26th with 5647 points . In 2016 she took part in the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro , where she was 23rd with 6024 points . A year later, she finished 27th at the World Championships in London with 4500 points . Two weeks later, the Santa Anna University Center student finished fifth at the Student World Games in Taiwan with 5337 points.
