The Vatslav Vorovskiy ( Russian Вацлав Воровский ; German transcribed Wazlaw Worowski ) was a cruise ship of the joint venture "Tais-Sport" and was built in 1959 as a ship of the line at the VEB Mathias-Thesen-Werft in Wismar in the GDR for the Murmansk state shipping company in the GDR Murmansk (Soviet Union) built. It belongs to the Mikhail Kalinin class , project 101, German name Seefa 340 - sea passenger ship for 340 passengers. The ship bears the name of the Soviet ambassador Wazlaw Wazlawowitsch Worowski ( Polish Wacław Worowski).

The ship was built in 1959 in the GDR for the Soviet Union and put into service with the shipping company in Murmansk on December 22, 1959. It belongs to a series of 19 ships manufactured from 1958 to 1964.
For 30 years, the Vatslav Vorovskiy was the flagship of the Murmansk shipping company and opened the Soviet Arctic to tourists. As the first ship in the world, Vatslav Vorovskiy made transarctic cruises on the Murmansk - Hayes Island - Dikson - Dudinka - Norilsk - Waigach - Solovetsky Islands - Arkhangelsk - Murmansk route from September 5, 1966 . The ship was also used several times on the transatlantic route Murmansk- Cuba .
From 1984 to 1988 the ship was operated by MinNefteGazStroi and after it was decommissioned in 1988 there were plans to convert it into a hotel ship. After the collapse of the Soviet Union , the unguarded ship was easy prey for metal thieves . The ship was set on fire and lies almost completely sunk on the rocks of the island of Smeiny (position 60 ° 39 ′ 0.1 ″ N , 28 ° 37 ′ 33.5 ″ E, ) in the Gulf of Vyborg ( Viipurinlahti in Finnish ).
For 25 years (1960–1985) the Vatslav Vorovskiy drove under the leadership of the captain Mikhail Gansowitsch Kask (Russian Михаил Гансович Каск, est. Mihhail Kask).
The captain on the last voyage was G. Semjonow.
Furnishing
All 1-, 2-, 3-, 4- and 6-bed cabins on four decks were equipped with a shower and toilet as part of the modernization. In addition, there was a music salon and dance floor, bar, kiosk, swimming pool, library, hospital, service room and cabin for mother and child.
