Vern-d'Anjou is a town and commune Déléguée in the French community Erdre-en-Anjou with 2,311 inhabitants (2311) in the department of Maine-et-Loire in the region of Pays de la Loire .

The significant increase in population in recent decades is largely due to the proximity to the city of Angers and the comparatively low rents and land prices in Vern-d'Anjou.
economy
For centuries, the local economy was geared towards the self-sufficiency of the population. As the population of Angers grew, production was also carried out for the markets there, but this was not easy to achieve because of the distance. In 1866 there were ten windmills and four water-powered mills in the village.
history
Little is known about the history of the place. A parish is mentioned as early as the 12th century. In the late 18th and early 19th centuries, Vern suffered from the revolts of the peasants loyal to the king ( chouans ).
With effect from December 28, 2015, the municipalities of Brain-sur-Longuenée , Gené , La Pouëze and Vern-d'Anjou were merged into a nouvelle commune called Erdre-en-Anjou. The municipality of Vern-d'Anjou belonged to the Arrondissement of Segré and the canton of Tiercé (until 2015: canton of Le Lion-d'Angers ).
Attractions
Vern-d'Anjou has no historical or culturally significant sights. The parish church dates from 1870.
