Administrative association Osterwieck-Fallstein
The Osterwieck-Fallstein administrative community was an administrative community in the Harz district in Saxony-Anhalt . It had eight member communities with a total of 12,591 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2006) on a total area of 212.69 km². Their seat was the city of Osterwieck.
The administrative community extends from the Great Break on the state border with Lower Saxony over the Fallstein ridge to the Harz foreland around the valleys of the Aue and Ilse .
Its forerunner was the Osterwieck administrative association, which was expanded to include the municipality of Aue-Fallstein on January 1, 2005 and was therefore renamed. On January 1st, 2010 all member communities merged to form the new town of Osterwieck.
