Administrative community Stendal-Uchtetal
In the administrative community of Stendal-Uchtetal of the district of Stendal , 14 communities were united to carry out their administrative business. The administrative community was created on January 1, 2005 through the merger of the former administrative community-free district town of Stendal with the 12 municipalities of the dissolved administrative community Uchtetal . On August 4, 2005, the community of Groß Schwechten joined the administrative community. The authority has its seat in the city of Stendal.
43688 inhabitants lived in an area of 268 km² (December 31, 2007). The last administrative manager of the community was Klaus Schmotz.
The administrative community of Stendal-Uchtetal in the southeast of the Altmark comprised the area from the district town of Stendal to the north of the Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide . The sources of the Uchte and Tangier lie in this area .
On January 1, 2010, the administrative community was dissolved. The member communities (except Dahlen, Insel and Vinzelberg) were incorporated into Stendal . Dahlen, Insel and Vinzelberg are initially co-managed by Stendal.
