Viktor Hospach

Viktor Johann Hospach (born June 14, 1904 in Hockenheim ; † August 12, 1971 in Wiesbaden ) was a German actor and opera singer ( bass ).

Life

Viktor Hospach first learned the watchmaking trade . This was followed by vocal training with P. Zimmermann at the Badische Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe . He gained his first stage experience from 1927 at the theater academy of the Badisches Staatstheater in Karlsruhe. Here he made his debut in the same year in Ruggero Leoncavallo's opera The Bajazzo in a supporting role . From 1929 to 1933 he was permanently engaged at the Baden State Theater. In 1933 he became a member of the ensemble at the Hessian State Theater in Wiesbaden. At this house, to which he belonged until his death in 1971, he also represented the interests of the Cooperative of German Stage Members . His repertoire included the entire serious bass subject. In later years he also increasingly interpreted buffalo rolls . From 1932 to 1941 he appeared regularly at the festival in the Sopot Forest Opera . His first engagement at the forest opera was by accident. In the summer of 1932, Hospach was present in Sopot when he got the opportunity to step in for a sick colleague during the festival. Subsequently, he sang the Heerrufer in Richard Wagner's opera Lohengrin and Moruccio in Eugen d'Albert's musical drama Tiefland . In addition, Hospach made guest tours to the opera houses in Munich , Stuttgart , Belgium and Switzerland .

Viktor Hospach also worked in several film and television productions . These included the 1949 film Murder Trial Dr. Jordan by Erich Engels with Rudolf Fernau , Maria Holst and Margarete Haagen and 1956 Von der Liebe defeated by Luis Trenker with Marianne Hold , Wolfgang Preiss and Fritz Tillmann . In 1964, he played Emil and the Detectives, a kiosk owner, in a remake of the Walt Disney Studios of Erich Kästner's . On television he appeared in the detective comedy The Voice from the Hat by Rolf Hädrich with Joseph Offenbach , Karl-Maria Schley and Hans Timerding and in three episodes of the HR productions of the “Hesselbach” . In the television series Our Village he was also seen in the role of Sepp Schmidt .
