Viktoria Krüger (born October 28, 1914 in Dresden ; † March 31, 2010 there ) was a German sculptor .

Life

Viktoria Krüger was born on October 28, 1914 as the daughter of Captain Hans Krüger and his wife Luise (née Ohme) in Dresden. She attended the Dresden-Neustadt Municipal College, where she graduated from high school in 1934. Viktoria Krüger then studied from 1934 to 1937 with Rudolf Born at the Dresden School of Applied Arts and with Cirillo Dell'Antonio at the wood carving school Bad Warmbrunn . From 1938 to 1939 she was with Karl Albiker at the Dresden Art Academy . After serving as a telephone helper, Viktoria Krüger continued her studies from 1941 to 1944 with Joseph Wackerle at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich . An exchange study took her from 1942 to 1943 at the Accademia di Belle Arti (Florence) to study with Romano Romanelli .

After the air raids on Dresden , Viktoria Krüger first got involved as a rubble woman and a sculptor's assistant in the Dresden Zwinger . Until 1948 she worked as a plastic restorer and sculptor for Albert Braun in the Zwingerbauhütte during the reconstruction of the Dresden Zwinger.

From 1948 Krüger worked as a freelance sculptor and freelance worker for the Dresden University of Technology and the Dresden State Theater (e.g. Don Giovanni and Midsummer Night's Dream ). In her studio in Dresden-Bühlau, she made large outdoor sculptures and lettering works for public spaces, stage sculptures as well as portrait sculptures and reliefs for private clients until the early 1980s. She mostly worked with stone carving and art casting techniques .

Your small sculptures were u. a. shown at the art exhibition of the GDR . The last exhibition of selected drawings and sculptures took place in the spring of 1995 in the gallery “Rahmen & Bild Maria Arlt”.

Viktoria Krüger was buried after her death on March 31, 2010 in the grave of the Ohme family at the Johannisfriedhof in Dresden.
