Vincent Mensah (born July 19, 1924 in Cotonou , Benin , † March 10, 2010 in Paris , France ) was Roman Catholic Bishop of Porto-Novo .

Life

Vincent Mensah received on 21 December 1952, the sacrament of Holy Orders . He was the first professor of canon law , fundamental theology and apologetics at the Minor Seminary in Ouidah and from 1961 to 1965 at the Ouidah Seminary .

On September 21, 1970, Pope Paul VI appointed him . to the Bishop of Porto Novo . Cardinal Paul Zoungrana MAfr , Archbishop of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso, donated him episcopal ordination on December 19, 1970 ; Co -consecrators were Robert-Casimir Tonyui Messan Dosseh-Anyron , Archbishop of Lomé in Togo, and Bernardin Gantin , Bishop of Cotonou .

Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation on January 29, 2000 for reasons of age. He died of a stroke on a trip to Paris.
