Vinette Robinson

Vinette Robinson (* 1981 in Leeds , England ) is a British actress .

life and career

Vinette Robinson was born in Leeds and attended what is now the Leeds West Academy. She initially wanted to pursue a career as a barrister , but changed her mind after starring in a play by Charles Causley .

She made her acting debut at the age of 17 in an episode of the television series City Central . She then attended the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art for three years and received a Laurence Oliver Bursary upon graduation . As a result she had minor appearances in series such as Doctors or Doctor Who and played a small role in the film Vera Drake . In 2009 she took on the role of English teacher Helen Hopewell in the fifth season of the series Waterloo Road . She became internationally known for the role of Scotland Yard investigator Sgt. Sally Donovan , who she has played at irregular intervals in the highly acclaimed BBC series Sherlock since 2010.

Parallel to her film and television work, she also regularly plays in theater productions. Since 2004 she has appeared in over 10 plays in works by writers such as William Shakespeare . She received good reviews for her portrayal of Florence Kennedy , which she played in Darker Shores from December 2009 to January 2010.
