Visigoth ( English : West Goths ) is an American metal band from Salt Lake City .
history
The band was formed in 2010 when singer Jake Rogers called his friend and guitarist Leeland Campana and wanted to start a new band with him. This is named after the Visigoths, a Germanic people that sacked Rome in 410 . In the same year, the band, still consisting of two musicians, released the demo Vengeance . Two years later, the EP Final Spell followed , which was recorded with the guitarist Jamison Palmer, the bassist Matt Brotherton and the drummer Mike Treseder. In April 2014 Visigoth were signed by Metal Blade Records . Shortly thereafter, the band recorded their debut album The Revenant King with producer Andy Patterson , which was released on January 27, 2015. The album includes a cover version of the song Necropolis by Manilla Road . A year later Visigoth were represented with the song Final Spell on the compilation Metal Massacre 14 . Visigoth played at the Keep It True festival in 2017 . On February 9, 2018, the second studio album Conqueror's Oath was released, which entered the German album charts at number 86 and number 93 in the Swiss. A European tour followed. In the summer of the same year the band performed at the Bang Your Head festival . At the Metal Hammer Awards 2018, the band was nominated in the Up and Coming category and the song Warrior Queen in the Metal Anthem category. However, the prizes went to the bands Cypecore and Dimmu Borgir . For spring 2019 the band announced a European tour with the support groups Bewitcher and Resistance as well as an appearance at the Rock Hard Festival . The band also released the 7 "single Bells of Awakening .
