Viva Forever is a pop song by the British pop group Spice Girls from their second album Spiceworld . It was the first single after Geri Halliwell left the group. Halliwell can still be seen in the music video.

Music video

The music video for Viva Forever was directed by Oscar winner Steve Box of Aardman Animations . Five small figures of the band members were created for the video, which were animated using the stop-motion method.

Chart positions and awards

Viva Forever was rarely promoted as the four Spice Girls were on tour in America at the time of release. The single only received a lot of attention when Geri Halliwell left . The song sold 277,000 copies in the first week of its release. In the UK , the single stayed at number one in the charts for two weeks and went platinum.

Trivia

When the TV broadcaster MTV said goodbye to German free TV on January 1, 2011 , the broadcaster finally showed a special program entitled Thank you for the Music . The last song played was "Viva Forever"; a reference to the station VIVA , which like MTV belongs to Viacom and can still be seen on free TV.

VIVA ceased broadcasting at the end of December 2018 . The penultimate song was VIVA - Viva forever. When the British-Irish branch VIVA UK & Ireland was discontinued on January 31, 2018, Viva Forever was also the last song to be played.
