The Bird Island is an island in Lake Constance, with an area of around 600 square meters . It is located approximately 230 meters northwest of the mouth of the Leiblach before the city of Lindau , district Reutin . On it is the red pier light of the harbor entrance of the Marina Lindau-Zech . The island is declared a bird sanctuary .

According to BayernAtlas , the Vogelinsel does not belong to any parcel or district, and therefore does not belong to any municipality or the city of Lindau. It is thus not incommunalized, but still belongs to German sovereign territory, as it is located in the area of ​​the heap , the area of ​​Lake Constance up to a water depth of 25 meters.

Another island

Another, even smaller, nameless island ( location ) is located about 900 meters north of the bird island described above, only about 50 meters west of the mainland shore there. The island is also not incommunalized and is located in front of Villa Leuchtenberg a little to the south. At normal water level it is an island, at high tide only a tree protrudes from the water, at low tide, however, a connection to the nearby bank is created.
