The Black Forest open-air museum Vogtsbauernhof in Gutach is the oldest open-air museum in Baden-Württemberg . It depicts the life, living and working of people in the Black Forest over the past centuries.

description

The open-air museum takes its name from the Vogtsbauernhof , which has stood at this point since 1612 and whose owner was Talvogt in Gutach around 1650. With this Black Forest house , Hermann Schilli founded the museum in 1963. Over the years, more farms were added, which were dismantled at their original location and rebuilt in the Vogtsbauernhof Museum:

Surname Original location Construction year
Hippenseppenhof Furtwangen 1599
Lorenzenhof Oberwolfach 1608
Schauinslandhaus Schauinsland 1730
Falkenhof Buchenbach- Wagensteig 1737
Hotzenwaldhaus Hotzenwald 1756

This is supplemented by numerous functional buildings such as mills, warehouses, bakeries and saws . Farm animals of old breeds also live on the approximately 5.5 hectare site of the museum.

In 2017, the Hermann Schilli House, built in 1980, was made accessible to visitors. In March 2018, the first building from the northern Black Forest was presented, the Schlössle von Effringen from 1379.

The range of events at the Black Forest Open Air Museum Vogtsbauernhof includes daily mill demonstrations, handicraft demonstrations, special tours, hands-on programs for children and families as well as themed and action days.

The museum is open daily from late March to early November.
