Antonio Lazzaro Volpinari (born October 2, 1943 in Domagnano ) is a San Marinese politician.

Life

Volpinari belonged to the Partito Socialista Sammarinese (PSS), of which he was chairman until 2003. He represented the PSS in the San Marinese parliament, the Consiglio Grande e Generale, for nine legislative periods from 1964 to 2006.

Volpinare was elected Capitano Reggente , head of state of San Marino three times : from October 1, 1973 to April 1, 1974, from April 1 to October 1, 1977 and from April 1 to October 1, 2002.

From 1976 to 1978 he was Minister for Agriculture, Communication and Transport (Deputato per l'Agricultura, le Communicazioni ei Trasporti) in the government formed by Partito Democratico Cristiano Sammarinese (PDCS) and PSS , in the left-wing coalition from Partito, which ruled from 1978 to 1983 Comunista Sammarinese (PCS), Partito Socialista Unitario (PSU) and PSS, he was Minister for Agriculture and Trade (Deputato per l'Agricultura e il Commercio) . After the parliamentary elections in 1983, the three parties continued their coalition until 1986. Volpinari became Minister for Territory, Environment, Agriculture and Relations with the AASP in the new cabinet. (Deputato per il Territorio, l'Ambiente, l'Agricultura ei Rapporti con l'AASP) . In the following years there was a coalition of PDCS and PCS. This broke up in 1992 and was replaced by a coalition of PDCS and PSS. Volpinari was Minister of the Interior from 1992 to 2000 (Segretario di Stato per gli Affari Interni e la Protezione Civile) .

In February 2005 the PSS merged with the Partito dei Democratici to form the Partito dei Socialisti e dei Democratici . Volpinari left the party after a few months and joined the newly founded Nuovo Partito Socialista , of which he was chairman from 2005 to 2012. In the 2006 general election, he ran for the NPS, but failed to make it into parliament. In the 2008 parliamentary elections in which the PSU and Noi Sammarinesi formed the joint Lista della Libertà , Volpinari did not stand for election. Before the parliamentary elections in 2012, the NPS merged with the Partito Socialista Riformista Sammarinese (PSRS) to form the Partito Socialista (PS). Until the first party congress, Volpinari was co-chairman of the PS together with Paride Andreoli . He was then a member of the party's executive committee. Volpinari ran for the PS in the 2012 election, but could not win a seat. In the parliamentary elections at the end of 2016, he no longer ran.

Volpinari was ambassador for Andorra from 2011 to 2012.

From 2009 to 2016 he was chairman of the San Marino Equestrian Federation Federazione Ippica Sammarinese.
