Voodoo Vegas is a British rock - band from Bournemouth ( southern England / Channel ).
history
The five-piece band, founded in 2006, released their debut album The Rise of Jimmy Silver in 2013 , which was recorded by producer Pedro Ferreira at Rockfield Studios / Wales.
Voodoo Vegas had its first German stage appearance in 2013 at the traditional rock festival of Rockfreunde Rengsdorf (one of the oldest open-air festivals in Germany since 1981 ). On July 20, 2014, Voodoo Vegas played on a mobile stage of a low-loader at the Rhineland-Palatinate Day Parade in Neuwied in front of around 80,000 visitors and a large television audience. In October 2014 Voodoo Vegas played in the opening act for the US hard rock band Y&T in the Netherlands and Belgium. On December 4, 2014 Voodoo Vegas played in the opening act of Status Quo in Kerkrade (Netherlands).
The band was with producer Guillermo 'Will' Maya (including The Answer , Breed 77 ) at Los Rosales Residential Studio in Madrid to record the EP "Hypnotise", which was released on October 12, 2015. The single of the same name was released in the iTunes Store . The cover artwork was drawn by comic book artist Jim Boswell .
The second studio album, Freak Show Candy Floss , released on November 4, 2016, was re-recorded by producer Guillermo 'Will' Maya at Los Rosales Residential Studio in Madrid. Again, the cover artwork was drawn by comic artist Jim Boswell . The video for the single "Killing Joke" (inspired by the Joker character from the Batman films) was added to the playlist of the SkyTV satellite channel and its rock channel Scuzz .
Style and Influences
The main influences of the band include rock bands such as B. Aerosmith , AC / DC , Guns N 'Roses and Bon Jovi . The band's musical style can be described as a mixture of hard rock and classic rock with blues influences driven by guitar riffs .

The band financed their first studio album through crowdfunding via the PledgeMusic platform . In just a few days, the goal of the crowdfunding campaign was achieved (even exceeded with 343%) and with the help of the fans, the debut album could be produced.
The cover artwork of the debut album The Rise of Jimmy Silver , the EP Hypnotise and also the second studio album Freak Show Candy Floss was drawn by comic artist Jim Boswell .
The American professional wrestler Matt Taven uses the song So Unkind as enema music.
