Vadim Michailowitsch Stschastlivzew

Vadim Michailowitsch Stschastliwzew ( Russian Вадим Михайлович Счастливцев ; born November 24, 1935 in the village of Krasnyje Gorki) is a Russian physicist , metallurgist and university professor .

Life

Stschastlivtsev graduated from the Ural University in Sverdlovsk in 1958. Then he worked in Sverdlovsk at the Institute of Physics of Metals of the Ural Department of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (AN-SSSR). In 1964 he became a candidate for physical-mathematical sciences . With his dissertation on X-ray and electron microscopic investigations of structural changes in steel , he received his doctorate in physical-mathematical sciences in 1976 . Stschastlivtsev has headed the Laboratory for Physical Metallurgy since 1982 . In 1987 he was appointed professor. In 1990 he became a corresponding member of the AN-SSSR. Since 2003 he has been a Real Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAN). Since 1992 he has been the deputy editor- in-chief of the Russian - English journal Fisika metallow i metallowedenije / Physics of Metals and Metallography ( Nauka , Springer ).

Stschastliwzew was a student and employee of Vissarion Dmitrijewitsch Sadowskis . The steels were the focus of the work . The focus of work was the transformation kinetics of supercooled austenitic steels, the martensite transformation and the heat treatments of the steels.
