Wai Leong Chan (born April 6, 1986 ) is a professional Malaysian poker player .

Poker career

Career

Chan plays poker since 2009 and focuses primarily on online - cash games in the variant PLO . Since 2010 he has also participated in renowned live tournaments .

At the beginning of November 2016, Chan finished seventh at the main event of the Triton Super High Roller Series in Parañaque and received the equivalent of almost 250,000 US dollars . In May 2018, he made it into the money at three Triton Series tournaments in Budva, Montenegro, and secured prize money equivalent to just under 1.1 million US dollars. At the beginning of August 2018 he finished second at the main event of the Triton Series in Jeju-do and received his highest prize money to date of more than 3.2 million US dollars. At the end of September 2018, he also took second place at a side event of the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Barcelona , which was paid for around 420,000 euros . In April 2019, he placed third at an EPT tournament in Monte-Carlo, worth almost 400,000 euros.
