The Walbach is a 5.1 km long, northern and right tributary of the Agger in Ründeroth in the North Rhine-Westphalian Oberbergischer Kreis .
geography
course
The source of the Walbach, which flows entirely in the Bergisches Land Nature Park, is on the north-eastern edge of Wallefeld at around 255 m above sea level. Above sea level. Initially, the stream , which always flows along state road 307, runs southwest through Wallefeld. It then passes Remerscheid in the east, running south . Shortly afterwards the Walberbach flows into it and a little later, when you pass Müllensiefen to the west, the small Müllensiefen - both on the left.
In the Hardt , which then flows through , the Walbach approaches the Agger, which flows through Ründeroth , up to about 100 m; there it is only separated from its estuary by a low rise. Then the brook turns to the west and flows around the Mühlenberg ( 254.3 m ) in the north and, after the confluence of the Schnellenbach on the right , west. Below the village of Hardt, it passes the Aggertal Cave in the east, which is unique in the country .
Then the Walbach reaches the south-western part of Ründeroth, where it flows under the L 136, opposite the locality of Ohl at about 132 m above sea level in the north-eastern Sieg- tributary Agger. The brook has a geological and hydrological peculiarity with two mouths: Due to a dwindling stream , it has an underground mouth which is located in Ründeroth near the hut gardens; a little downstream there is its aboveground mouth opposite Ohl. The subterranean part passes under the Mühlenberg, in which the “ Windloch im Mühlenberg ” cave is also located.
On the 5.1 km long path from the source to the mouth, the Walbach overcomes a height difference of 123 m, which corresponds to a mean bed gradient of 24.1 ‰.
