Waldemar Pisarski

Waldemar Pisarski (born November 17, 1942 in Litzmannstadt, today Łódź , Poland ) is a German Protestant theologian , pastor and pastoral psychologist .

Life

Pisarski comes from a pastor's family. In 1945 the family fled to Franconia . In Marktredwitz in the Fichtelgebirge Pisarski spent his school days up to his Abitur. After studying theology in Neuendettelsau , Heidelberg and Erlangen , he went to the USA for clinical pastoral training . The first year, 1966, he spent at the School of Theology at Claremont, California with Howard Clinebell . From 1972 to 1974 he spent two more years in the Central Prison of Raleigh, North Carolina , and at the Central Islip Psychiatric Center in New York City.

His first professional position was in 1974 at the newly established Großhadern Clinic (Munich), where he set up a center for clinical pastoral training for the Bavarian regional church . In the following years he completed training in personal body therapy with Karlfried Graf Dürckheim .

In 1985 Pisarski was appointed to the Church of Reconciliation in the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial . During this time he trained as a gestalt therapist (AKG). From 1990 until his retirement in 2007 he was theological director of the working group for evangelical adult education in Bavaria .

Today Pisarski lives in Augsburg and works as an author , pastor , speaker and teaching supervisor .
