Valentina Meredova ( Russian Валентина Мередова , English transcription Valentina Meredova; born Назарова - Nasarowa - Nazarova; born September 29, 1984 in Ashgabat , TuSSR ) is a Turkmen sprinter and long jumper .

Athletic career

Valentina Meredowa gained her first experience in international championships at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki , where she was eliminated over 100 meters in the first round. A year later she was eliminated at the World Indoor Championships in Moscow over 60 meters and at the Asian Games in Doha over 100 meters in the lead. In 2007 she again took part in the World Championships in Osaka , but this time did not get beyond the first round, as well as at the Indoor World Championships in 2008 in Valencia and the Olympic Games in Beijing .

In 2014 she again took part in the Asian Games in Incheon , South Korea , but did not reach the final again. At the 2015 Asian Championships in Wuhan , she reached the semi-finals over 100 meters for the first time and was eliminated at the World Championships in Beijing with 12.25 seconds in the first round . In 2016 she reached the semi-finals over 60 meters at the Asian Indoor Championships in Doha and was eliminated in the first round at the World Indoor Championships in Portland . In 2017 she reached the semi-finals over 100 meters at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku . At the beginning of September she took eighth place over 60 meters at the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat and won the bronze medal in the Turkmen 4 x 400 meter relay. In addition, she took seventh place in the long jump with 5.58 m. In 2018 she took part in the Asian Indoor Championships in Tehran , where she finished sixth over 60 meters in 7.54 seconds. The following year she retired from the Asian Championships in Doha with 12.06 s in the first round.

In 2007 and 2018 Meredova became the Turkmen champion in the 100 and 200 meters. In the hall, she secured the championship titles in the 60-meter run and long jump in 2017 and again over 60 meters in 2018 and 2019.
