Valery Leonidovich Makarov

Valeri Leonidowitsch Makarow ( Russian Валерий Леонидович Макаров ; born May 25, 1937 in Novosibirsk ) is a Russian economist , mathematician and university professor .

Life

Makarov's father was a railway engineer and manager of the Novosibirsk Central Railway Station . Makarov's mother Ariadna Artemjewna Jerschowa headed the technology department of the West Siberian Railway . Her father Artemi Ilyich Yershov was a well-known writer . Makarov's uncle Yuri Artemyevich Yershov worked in the scientific laboratory of a chemical factory . Makarov's younger brother is the mathematician Juri Leonidowitsch Jerschow . Makarov attended the 30th railway school next to the Novosibirsk Central Station and received the silver medal at the end.

Makarov studied at the Moscow State Institute of Economics with a degree in 1960. He then worked in the Institute of Mathematics of the Siberian Department (SO) of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (AN-SSSR) in Novosibirsk, founded by Sergei Lvowitsch Sobolew in 1957 . After completing his apprenticeship with Leonid Witaljewitsch Kantorowitsch, he became a candidate in economics in 1965 , a doctorate in physical-mathematical sciences in 1968 and a doctorate in economics in 1969. To this end, he headed the chair for theoretical cybernetics at the Novosibirsk State University (NGU). In 1970 he was appointed professor. In 1979 he became a corresponding member of the AN-SSSR. In 1983 he became director of the All-Russian Research Institute for Problems of Organization and Management in Moscow.

1985 Makarov became director of the Central Institute for Economics and Mathematics of the AN-SSSR (since 1991 Russian Academy of Sciences (RAN)) in Moscow as successor to Nikolai Prokofievich Fedorenko . In 1990 Makarov became a real member of the AN-SSSR. With others he founded the Russian School of Economics and was its first rector (1992–2004, then president). In 1996 he became dean of the faculty of theoretical economics at Moscow State University of Humanities . In 2006 he became director of the State Administration College of Lomonosov University Moscow (MGU) and head of the chair for application problems of business- mathematical modeling at MGU. In 2017 he resigned from the office of director of the Central Institute for Economics and Mathematics. Albert Raufowitsch Bachtisin was his successor .
