Walter Rühland

Walter Rühland (born May 1, 1905 in Goslar , † January 29, 1967 in Schliersee ) was a German sound engineer, the busiest representative of his profession in German film.

Life

Rühland had trained as an electrical engineer and came across the film industry through his work at Siemens . Rühland had been active in the new medium since October 1, 1929, with the start of the talkie era in Germany. He participated in a large number of box office hits and also in a few artistically above-average productions under directors such as Helmut Käutner , Rudolf Jugert and Kurt Hoffmann .

After the war, Walter Rühland worked almost exclusively for films made in and around Munich . Most recently, he was responsible for the sound of several Rühmann comedies. He died while working on the television series Graf Yoster gives himself the honor . Rühland was involved in over 150 productions as a sound engineer.
